Electric League of Western Pennsylvania

The Mission of the Electric League of Western Pennsylvania is to be the recognized leader that educates and promotes the electrical industry.

The objectives of the Electric League of Western Pennsylvania are:

1. to serve as the key organization and headquarters for the electric interests in Western PA

2. to promote the general interests of the electrical and lighting industry

3. to keep members informed on new developments in methods, materials and markets

4. to serve the public by coordinating the efforts of all branches of the industry for the purpose of stimulating more extensive and efficient service

5. to promote mutual acquaintance and good fellowship between the members of the industry.

Ours is a story of transformation and comeback that spans two generations, from smoke control and urbanredevelopment that marked Renaissance One during the 1950s and 1960s to the 30-year comeback from a severe recession that cost the region much of its industrial base.

In recent times, the diverse Pittsburgh economy has provided the region with relative stability through the “Dot Com Bust”and the “Great Recession.” But now we are turning another corner from modest growth to real expansion. From theTravel Channel to National Geographic Traveler, people are raving. Conde Nast Traveler named Pittsburgh one of the "Top 15 Places to Go in 2015!"

Pittsburgh is a great American comeback story. Leveraging a portfolio of assets – including human capital, billionsannually in R&D investment, entrepreneurial innovation and a burgeoning energy sector spanning traditional and renewable sources and a robust supply chain – the Pittsburgh region is moving to the next level as a global business hub and a truly international region.

The Electric League is happy to feature The Power of Pittsburgh, which includes tours, lectures, networking opportunities and celebrations while we highlight the electrical industry’s role in making the region what it is today.
